Oyakodon is a rice bowl topped with simmered chicken and eggs.
Oyakodon
literally “parent-and-child donburi”, is a Japanese Donburi or rice bowl dish, in which chicken .,egg, onion, and other ingredients are all simmered together in a sauce and then served on top of a large bowl of rice.

The name of the dish, parent and child donburi, is a poetic reflection of the fact that both chicken and egg are used in the dish.
In Japan oyakodon is often served in soba restaurant and other traditional Japanese restaurants.

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • Steamed rice
  • 3/4 lb chicken thighs or chicken breasts
  • 1 onion
  • 4 eggs Donburi Sauce ingredients
  • 1 2/3 cups soup stock (dashi)
  • 7 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp mirin
  • 3 tbsp sugar
    Put All ingredient in a sauce pan and heat.
